This paper introduces a new reaching law forsliding mode control to regulate the current loop of a DC-DC boost converter in a small-scale standalone wind turbine system equipped with battery storage. The wind turbine employs a direct-driven generator known as the Vernier Doubly Salient Permanent Magnet (DSPM) generator. The proposed control aims to minimize the inductor current ripple in the DC-DC boost converter and enhance the overall performance of the wind turbine system. The system's behavior is analyzed through simulations conducted in MATLAB/Simulink. The results indicate that the proposed method achieves reduced current ripple and superior performance compared to the Gao’s second law sliding mode control (SMC) approach.
