Abstract

The analysis of the conducted electromagnetic

disturbances propagation is a complex issue, involving

detection and analysis of electromagnetic disturbances,

modelling of power grids’ elements, and study of the influence

on the grids’ elements (electric lines and power transformers) of

the existing disturbances.

The paper presents a software tool for analyzing the

propagation of electromagnetic disturbances. It was

implemented as a virtual instrument developed in the graphic

programming environment LabVIEW, and helps for the study

of propagation of harmonic and unbalanced current/voltages,

over-currents and voltage dips caused by common faults in

radial distribution power grids.
