Abstract

A microturbine unit (MTU) consists of a gas turbine, a permanent magnet synchronous machine (PMSM), a three phase AC-to-DC rectifier and a DC-to-AC inverter. In this paper, the detailed modelling of MTU has been developed by using PSCAD/EMTDC under different operating conditions. The mathematical model for MTU is presented. Also the suitable control strategy of DC-to-AC inverter for off-grid and on-grid condition is demonstrated, too.
