Abstract

This paper presents a flicker compliance testing method useful for the evaluation of electrical power standards. The method uses a very precise self-developed flicker generator based on discrete power semiconductors. Pst, frequency and voltage variations can be accurately compared to assess the performance of flicker generators. A digital flickermeter has also been developed and it is used to obtain the results of the most characteristic flicker parameter, Pst. With this approach, it is possible to assess the performance of flicker generator standards in consistency with the latest IEC flickermeter testing standard edition.
